Radio Over IP (ROIP)

"The Communication Network breaks the boundaries of the world and changes business life in the world"

Why do we need Radio over IP (RoIP Gateways)? Radio over IP (RoIP) leverages modern digital technologies to offer a cost-effective way to connect radio systems and carriers that enhance and add value to existing radio communications networks, and newly created channels.

Radio over IP (Internet Protocol) is the process of sending and receiving digital voice packets (audio, data) over the existing internet network / Internet Protocol (IP) infrastructure such as TCP/IP.

The benefits of radio over IP include analog radio or digital radio network transmission through the use of IP gateways with lower costs, better reliability, and increased interoperability. Radio over IP is different from Voice over IP technology. Radio over Internet Protocol, or RoIP, is similar to Voice over IP (VoIP) but adds two-way radio communication via telephone calls. System-wise, it’s VoIP with PTT (Push To Talk). For users, it can be implemented like any other radio network.

Most businesses, military entities, public safety organizations, and commercial operations already have their LAN or WAN network. In addition, many public IP networks can be utilized with augmented private LAN. Therefore, there is no need to build new communication lines to implement RoIP solutions in most situations.

The RoIP solutions can connect UHF, VHF, and High-Frequency radios with cell phones, VoIP phones, and SIP-enabled devices.
