Clock synchronization (also known as distributed time system), is a primary time controller whose purpose is to coordinate clocks for the benefit of time synchronization processes in systems installed in infrastructure/facilities, with various networked systems and processes, to show the same and unified time.

The Clock synchronization system has important functions including sending data on the internet and a GPS navigation system (knowing the exact position, which works by setting the time for sending and receiving signals to be very accurate). Any devices with different technologies connected at high speed will have the same and accurate time.

Clock synchronization maximizes productivity, efficient operations, and an efficient workforce, by standardizing schedules, thereby reducing maintenance and labor costs and maintaining accurate time across complex infrastructure/facilities. Clock Synchronization is important for critical industries such as transportation hubs, Utility billing, air traffic control systems, CCTV cyber security systems, computer and communications networks, power generation, power distribution, and control room facilities.

One method of synchronized system clocks is that the master clock is synchronized from either a GPS receiver or NTP server, or an internal clock that is used as its time source, then distributed among all the slave clocks installed on the system to which the clocks are synchronized many times daily throughout the system. This is to keep the time synchronized across all the clocks. The Clock Synchronization in the infrastructure/facility, then everyone in the infrastructure/facility follows the same time source.
