Ship-shore Link (SSL) is a communication interface between ships and shores, ships and ships that have an intelligent control module whose function is to facilitate the interface provided to maintain the security and safety of personnel and assets during the process of transferring hazardous products from shore to ship or vice versa which consists of and not limited to

• Fiber optic security link, the link used to communicate ESD signals, telecommunications, hotlines, and data transfer to monitor anchor cargo during berth)
• Electrical safety links, and physical linkages to be able to communicate Shore-to-Ship and Ship-to-Ship and to provide Emergency Shutdown Signals (ESD) for cargo transfer operations
• Pneumatic safety links, Compressed air ducts between the LNG carrier and the LNG terminal (or ship-to-ship), and pressure control and drainage valves on the side or shore of the ship
• Hot line telephone, the voice communication link from ship to shore, from infrastructure/facility to the public)
